A biomass power plant from Tokyo Cement Company (Lanka) Ltd.

A biomass power plant which is to be produced 10 MW from Paddy husks and glidiceria branches will come soon in Sri Lanka as cooperated social responsibility program of Tokyo Cement Company (Lanka) Ltd. The investment on this power plant is 14 million USDs and the 10 MW is more than adequate the electricity power requirements of Tokyo Cement plant in Trincomalee.
Green initiative is very important to Cement industries. Because 6 % of responsibility on global warming is on cement production process due to huge CO2 emission in production process. This figure is without emission from transportation of cement. So you can imagine the effect on environment from cement manufacturing industry.
