Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) is planning to implement a lube oil blending plant in Trincomalee in July, 2007. This plant will replace Indian imports of finished lubricants. The LIOC is doing this project under government support to eliminate security threats. They have invested 600 millions of SLR on this project. The proposed plant will produce 18,000 mts of lube oil per year.

This is very good news for us, because these type of plants will offer us direct carrier & research opportunities as chemical & process engineers. So we can serve our service to our own mother land with out leaving the country seeking carrier opportunities which are relating to our field.
