CHESS, the Chemical Engineering Student society which is attached to Chemical Engineers Society of Sri Lanka will select the next president in upcoming AGM. The past president Jayaweera said that we have to continue present student research projects which is funded by IRQUE project, Prabashwaree musical program which is a fund raising program to give scholarships for needy student, Katha Baha (discussion session with industrialists) ... etc further.
Dr. Shantha Walpolage, the president of Chemical Engineers Society Sri Lanka & Dr. Jagath Premachandra thanked past president & committee for their dedication for CHESS progress. There are eight ongoing student research projects in our department. One project has applied for sri lankan patent. It is a reactor design for making "Kalu Dodol" a sinhala cultural food. Himantha Coorey the project leader said he has apply for Sri Lankan patents for that design.

I wonder whether the dodol is similar to the dodol in Malaysia (which is sweet and sticky)???
