online engineering degree? is it possible

online college degree, online university degree or engineering degrees online is some of raising interest of students as it allow them superb flexibility to manage with a major degree or full/part time jobs. As example a student who follow chemical engineering major may prefer to take online engineering degree at a different location.

With advancement of web based knowledge systems such as webinars and educational content management systems based on softwares like moodle offers much flexibility to online college degree initiatives and universities can start up a online university degree with less time and less cost.

While I was student at university of moratuwa, I followed a part time Bachelor of Information Technology at University of Colombo, School of Computing and they offered online cousre material using a system based on open source Moodle. I study most of modules using their content management system and participate of online exams also.

I think it is possible to conduct online degree programs but when it is about engineering; what is about praticals. As engineering is one of most practical based education stream we need a different approch in online engineering degrees. While providing lectures online using webinar and content management systems, we have to find out a way to provide practical knowledge to students.

American Nuclear information document was leaked into web

A document with more than two hundred pages on information about civil nuclear program of American government was leaked to internet by mistake. This document is contain most of already published information and secret data on active nuclear fuel stockpiles.

Officials says there is no military nuclear data on that document. But anyhow government of United States of America must be more responsible than this due to potential and available security threats on the country.
