could I do to get an equivalent degree to chemical engineering
I saw your website and thought that maybe you could answer some questions for me. I am actually an adult that would like to get a chemical engineering degree, however there are no schools in my area that currently offer one. The closest is about 2 hours away. Nearby schools offer chemistry and engineering separately, but not as chemical engineering. So my question for you is what could I do to get an equivalent degree? Could I major in chemistry and figure out some types of alternative classes I could take that would allow me to learn the "engineering" aspect of it??
Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Answer!
Chemical engineering is unique degree with its own vast diversification. "The closest is about 2 hours away" this quotes is not a thing to miss a chemical engineering degree. I think you can mange it by finding boarding places something like that. When I was at university, it was 130km away from my home and I was used to stay in boarding and learn there.
I think you may got the answer!

Chemical process of making asbastose diaphragm of sodium hydroxide manufacture?
The diaphragm is made of a porous mixture of asbestos and polymers. It must be a permeable asbestos based diaphragm is used to separate the anode products from the cathode products.
There are two types of diaphragm cells
- Mesh type - mesh type diaphragm cell anode ( box type anode )
- Plate type ( perforated ) - perforated plate diaphragem cell ( electrolyzer ) anodes
I requested more detail from one of my contact and I will post it here once I got more details.
Recycling cathode Ray tubes
the electronics recycling industry. Mercury and hexavalent chromium are found in CRTs those can be considered as more toxic substances. The densities of these toxic material differ from places as example panel glass of a CRT only contains 4% lead, but the funnel and neck glasses contain up to 28% and 30%, respectively.
CRTs are recycled by initially either shredding the entire unit (with or without casings), or separating the glass components (panel, funnel, neck and frit). Shredding results in a mix
of glass and lead that is subsequently separated by electro-magnetic or density methods. The resulting glass, which contains varying levels of lead, is often smelted in a furnace to convert
the lead ore in a reaction with carbon based fuel to elemental lead. Separating the glass components first requires manual separation of the CRT from its housing and other exterior parts. Then, separating the glass before shredding allows the individual glass streams to be sent to either glass-to-glass (GtG) processors or smelters.

What is the best minor field in chemical engineering?
All minors which usually offered my chemical engineering departments in universities have their own uniqueness and importance. Depending your interests and ambitions you may select a minor stream in your chemical engineering degree.
If biology and chemistry is your favorites select biochemical engineering, if you are fascinating about organic chemistry you may select polymer engineering. If you wish to make your contribution on climate change, global warming, deforestation, waste minimization .... etc environmental engineering is there. If you wish to be a part in industrial chemical plants use general chemical engineering path for your future.
Select minor field depending on your skills and interests. you may find your academic and carrier life very interesting!
Chemstation ChemCad 5.2
What can you do with Chemcad 5.2?
- Increased productivity with the calculation of the performance of chemical engineering day-to-day
- Maximizing revenue with the creation of labih efficient design in new process and new tools
- Decrease the cost of the optimization process of chemical engineering
This tutorial will provide additional capability to operate in basic CHEMCAD. CHEMCAD is a program that is easy to learn and how best to use experts in that. Here will be given step-by-step explanation of how to complete a process of technical problems Sci. In a way that is very easy because this is designed to be a "sincere friend" chemical engineer who is very familiar with the base Windows. So the rules that are used on windows in general is also used in CHEMCAD.
ANSYS Tutorials
Vibration Simulation Using MATLAB and ANSYS
This book has written as a result of a carrier in a stream of mechanical engineering in the disk drive industry for 30 years. As you know disk drive consists of servo control system in order to to control actuator position.
This book has three purposes.
- collect document various methods of constructing and representing dynamic mechanical models
- to help the reader develop a strong understanding of modal analysis
- to show how to take the results of large dynamic finite element models and build small MATLAB state space dynamic mechanical models for use in mechanical or servo/mechanical system models
How easy is it to get a job in vietnam with a chemical engineering degree?
Economy of Vietnam is basically an agricultural and foreign investment based one. So better to study the types of foreign investment in Vietnam and you must follow subjects according to requirement of those industries.
There are lot of apparel industries as investment in Vietnam and better to scope on waste water treatment, textile dyes, polymer applications and relevant chemical engineering scopes in textile industry
What is the closest major to chemical engineering?
Anyway in wide scope a chemistry degree wouldn't be too terribly difficult to pick up along with a ChE degree. A lot of your electives and core work will be the same, so that's your best bet.

Can I be an enviornmental engineer with a degree in chemical engineering?
Is chemical engineering a good degree to get ? Does it have a scope in the future ?
While other engineers (traditional engineering such as civil, mechanical, electrical ....) play with mathematics and physics; chemical engineers master both subjects while using chemistry, biology, food sciences ... etc. Definitely it has vast area to research and on the unlimited space you would be able to make future happens.
Finally I would say; It is worth degree to getting .....

What are the differences in the Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering majors?
In chemical engineering they deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms.
In both feilds same subjects are offered such as thermodynamics, fluides. But these subjects are used in very different objectives and scope.
What is the amount of chemistry in the chemical engineering course?
Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. In addition to producing useful materials, modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques - such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering. - Wikipedia
What chemical engineering elective should I take?
Do not worry! if you read your recommended text books, manuals, familiarized with software packages in a minor chemical engineering field; it will give you discipline to learn other field very easily. Be brave to select a minor field which make love to follow. But never forget to keep in touch with other fields
How does electrical engineering compare to chemical engineering difficulty wise?
It is the simplest answer which can be given to that kind of question.
When I was following my first degree in the University of Moratuwa I had many friends in many engineering fields. My roommates were from very diversified engineering fields. As I felt those days I think learning any engineering fields requires great scarifications and you must interested what you are following. Follow a field which you can dream .... Follow a field which you can make future happens ....
Selection of the engineering streams is a decision you must take very carefully ... because you are going to live in that field most probably for the lifetime
