Oil explorations will be commenced next year definitely – Hon. A. H. M. Fouzi

Petroleum oil & petroleum oil resources development minister Hon. A. H. M. Fouzi said that there will be oil explorations in Sri Lanka in next year. They have already identified eight oil rich zones. They will start oil explorations in there zones in next year. Two zones will be given to China & India. Fugo Data Solution is the policy producer for this process; they will prepare all necessary documents in next two months.

The director general Neil R de Silva said that there are oil deposits in 4 km deep region of sea. The initial facts ensure 70 % of possibility to find oil resources in that area.
