Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa was inaugurated by gazette notification on 15th February 1972. From that day it has produce about 500 chemical engineers to deliver Chemical and Process Engineering knowledge, skills and innovation for a sustainable tomorrow.
This department carries out a unique tradition in Faculty of Engineering. The lectures & students are very friendly & helpful to each other. The non academic staff members are also very helpful & punctual. The department has been funded with IRQUE project & so we are getting state of art equipments & infrastructure facilities to enhance our quality of education & researches.
There are four minor disciplines in department which are to be selected by students. These four minor disciplines are very important in today’s business environment & our student have more carrier opportunities in industrial sector. At the very beginning of our department, they intake only two students. But now department facilitate for 50 students as undergraduate, 10 students for post graduate & M.Sc for their education & researches.
